Second-guessing your brand personality? Take the 60-second Brand Quiz
One of the most common questions I get during Discovery Calls is:
“How do you make sure my branding/website/logo/color scheme is right for me?”.
Before you come to a designer asking for help, you probably spend a lot of time browsing Pinterest. Gathering inspiration and soaking all the different styles, color palettes and graphics. You probably also found yourself changing your mind completely, after seeing yet another website design or branding board.
It’s a very common problem my clients have, so don’t beat yourself up for not being able to make a final decision. Tweaking branding over and over again is a stage most people can be stuck on for a long time. It’s not you – it’s just your approach that makes you all confused and indecisive.
Let’s start with one simple sentence, that will help you understand what you’re trying to achieve:
Branding is a way of communicating your business strategy + values + personality.
That’s why, if you skip the strategy step and dive into the design right away, you will constantly feel like you can’t find the right visuals for your brand.
At Adored Designs, you’ll go through an in-depth branding questionnaire before we dive into the branding design process.
This process helps you:
- get clear on your ideal client profile,
- understand the message you want your brand to send,
- clearly state the values your brand shares with your clients,
- find your buzz words,
- and determine what feelings do you want your brand to evoke.
After this process, my clients know exactly why their branding looks like it does. They understand the thinking behind it. Then, even if they like someone else’s website or branding board they find on Pinterest they can honestly say to themselves: “I like it, but this will not work for my brand”. They are not tempted to change it again and again.
Tweaking your branding over and over again blocks you from being able to build momentum. People can never really remember your brand because it keeps changing.
This hurts your business. You appear unprofessional and unreliable. This can put off many potential clients or customers.
Visuals that send your message
Logo, color palette and even fonts all send a certain message. They need to be chosen wisely to represent your unique brand. When there’s a strategy behind this process, you can be sure you’ll get a unique brand tailored to your business, rather than something that has been pieced out of random inspirations from other websites or brands.
If you’ve been stuck on the inspiration stage, find yourself choosing different visuals every now and then and feel like you are NEVER going to get out of this cycle, take a step back and start this process the right way.

Your brand is so much more than a logo, color palette, fonts or even a website. It’s the vibe, the energy that surrounds it. It’s the way you make your clients feel and interact with them. It’s your offering. It’s your brand photography and business strategy.
It’s important that you treat your business in a holistic way and honour all sides of it. Only then can you create an irresistible, cohesive brand that builds trust and authority and inspires people to work with you, buy from you, and become your raving fan.
